Some users in the UK of telehealth app Babylon Health were able to view the videos of other patients’ online doctor visits.
A recent CBC article reported that a user on social media claimed to have had access to the private consultations of at least 50 other patients.
In response, the company acknowledged the breach, attributing it to a software bug and stated that international users were not affected.
A Canadian version of the app is currently being used in BC and Alberta – where it is already currently under investigation by the Alberta privacy commissioner to assess its’ compliance with the province’s Personal Information Protection Act.
A Babylon Health app error allowed U.K. patients to watch videos of other patients' private doctor visits.
The Alberta government says the version of this app it promoted didn't have a similar breach. It's under investigation by the privacy commissioner.https://t.co/CeNGR87YbA
